The Vicar General of the Diocese of Sodor and Man is an ecclesiastical law officer appointed by the Lord Bishop of Sodor and Man. The office is an ancient one and the holder is chancellor, vicar general and official principal in the diocese. As chancellor the Vicar General presides in the ecclesiastical courts.
