Stephen Jelley (born May 12, 1982 in Leicester) is a British auto racing driver. In 2006 and 2007 he drove for Double R Racing in British F3. Jelley later switched to touring cars, contesting the 2008 BTCC championship with Team RAC as Colin Turkington's teammate. Results gradually improved, with points finishes in each of the next 3 meetings, with a best result of 8th [ [http://www.norwichunion.com/press/stories/4214-team-rac--snetterton--race-report.htm] ] . In round 9 at Silverstone he qualified seventh, but after finishing there in race 1 he crashed in race 2, dislocating his shoulder. Despite this injury he did contest the final race, finishing in the points. At the Brands Hatch season finale, he took pole position, although as he explained to ITV4, the team did not initially believe he had set the fastest time, and attributed seeing P1 on the screen to a timing error. In the race his gearbox failed, but he fought back to score minor points in the third race of the day
