Focal (lexicographical website)

focal.ie is a lexicographical website with the aim of creating a comprehensive database for Irish Language terminology.

Funded by the European Union and Foras na Gaeilge, it was developed by Fiontar (an inter-disciplinary school in DCU which conducts teaching and research activities through Irish) in collaboration with a similar project being undertaken by the University of Wales, Lampeter, [http://www.geiriadur.net geriadur.net] . Currently, the [http://www.focal.ie focal.ie] database contains over 250,000 terms, which can be searched through Irish and English.
