Wilberforce Echezona

Wilberforce William Chukudinka Echezona is a Nigerian musicologist and a pioneer teacher of music in Nigerian universities. He was the first Nigerian to earn a doctorate degree in Music; and joined the department of Music at the University of Nigeria in 1960. He attended Trinity College of Music, London and Michigan State University.One of his renowned work included, but not limiited to the Ogene phone. Ogene phone is now being wildly used in concerts and in motion pictures as African Classical music instrument.
