The Antelope Valley College District Police Department, formed in 2003, serves the students, faculty and neighborhood community surrounding the Antelope Valley Community College District's 3 campuses in Palmdale, Lancaster, and Fox Airfield in California. The main police department office is located at the Antelope Valley College main campus in Lancaster. The police department is made up of 2 armed sworn police officers, 8 part-time police officers, as well as 20 non-sworn security guards. The Antelope Valley College District Police Department is responsible for 13,000-14,000 students each semester and a large academic and support staff. The department currently has no police chief.

Authority

The Antelope Valley College District Police Department is a full service police department. All police officers are required to complete a basic police academy. The police officers have the same duties, responsibilities and authority as any municipal, county, or state law enforcement agency.

The Antelope Valley College District Police Department also employs security officers. Each of these officers are required to complete a course of training mandated by the State of California and BSIS. Security officers are responsible for parking enforcement, building security and student escorts.
