Harry Hallowes

Harry Hallowes (born 1936) is a tramp living in Highgate, North London. He attracted public and media attention after his plot of land could be worth up to £4 million. Hallowes moved to England from County Sligo, Ireland in 1956. He is the owner of a 800 square meter block of land that he claimed under the laws of adverse possession. [cite web

] He occupies a 12 x 8ft shack in the garden on land estimated to be worth more than two million pounds. It used to be the Athlone House Nursing Home. Dwyer International (property developers) bought the site in 2005 and attempted to evict Harry Hallowes. Harry's solictor in the case was Maurice Evans.
