Take the Power Back is a song from the first album of 1990s political rock band, Rage Against the Machine. In the song front man Zack De La Rocha urges listeners to rebel against the current government of the United States of America, Canada, Australia, and various European nations, and he goes on to discuss the flaws of the American education system.

The song features a distinctive intro utilizing drums, bass guitar, and electric guitar in a build-up of the main riff. The famous line "The present curriculum — I put my fist in 'em" features lead guitarist Tom Morello using octave chords and mimicking the riff from N.W.A.'s "Straight Outta Compton".

The song was never released as a single, although a live version did appear on the "Freedom" single. Many Rage fans consider it as one of the bands most influential songs and feel it should have been released.

The song was performed for the first time in 13 years on August 24th, 2007 at Rage Against The Machine's East Troy concert.
