"Hair of the Dog" is the title track of Nazareth's 1975 album "Hair of the Dog". It is sometimes called "Son of a Bitch" because of a lyric in the chorus (Now you're messing with a son of a bitch). The song was later covered by such bands like Guns N' Roses on their 1993 album ""The Spaghetti Incident?"", Warrant and Britny Fox. Stonerider covered the song on their 2008 album "Three Legs of Trouble".

The song's riff is sampled in Girls Aloud's "Sexy! No No No...", for which Nazareth received a writing credit.

The song was also featured in a summer 2005 commercial for the new Dodge Charger, in a mash-up of "Hair of the Dog" and "Unleashed" by Chris Classic.

The song is sometimes mistakenly refered to as a song by the Austrailian band AC/DC.
