Agar malwa is one of the larger cities of the
Shajapur district .It is situated at theIndore -Kota highway. It was the cantonment region at the time of independence ofIndia because of the weather and large availability of water.Agar plateau
This is the western part of the district covering the major areas of Agar Malwa
Tehsil . There is a hill tract in the west ofBadod town showing scattered hillocks in a north-south direction. The presence of hills in the center has affected the drainage pattern. The height of this tract varies between 500 and 545 meters above the mean sea level and it slopes towards the north.Dudhaliy andKachhol are the main streams in the west, originating from the hill tract and draining towards the west.Chhoti Kali Sindh , which is the main perennial stream of the region, flows northwards on the western border of the region.Tourist spots of Agar malwa
Agar Malwa has few slight tourist attractions. The city has has two ponds;
Moti Sagar andRatna Sagar which accounts for the large amount of water in the city. There is also a dam on theKalisindh river , theParsukheri dam . The city contains a famous ancient temple, Baijnath Mahadev, which was created by the wife of a British soldier duringWorld War II , as a wish for his welfare. Some notable areas are the Gufa Barda (Tulja Bhawani mandir), Kewada Swami (Kal Bhairav mandir), Kamal Kundi and Bade Ganeshji, Baijnath Mandir & Tulja Bhawani mandir.Schools in Agar(Malwa)
