Josh Ottum

Josh Ottum (born Mar. 1978) is an American musician and songwriter. Ottum is responsible for 5 full-length albums and 2 singles. After finishing a music composition class in college, Ottum began experimenting with writing pop songs on his Apple computer with the music software program Finale. Using this medium and the Yamaha PSR-31 synthesizer, Josh created 3 albums under the moniker Mister Pleasant. In 2003, Josh and collaborator Brendan Bosworth formed the group Friends For Heroes and released "Years in a Costume", an electronic pop record. Ottum signed to indie-label Mill Pond Records in the spring of 2005 and began work on "Like The Season", his solo debut. "Like The Season" features members of Sufjan Stevens' band, 5 drummers and a horn section. The album was released in the fall in Europe by Tapete Records along with an EP entitled "Who Left The Lights On?". Mill Pond Records released an EP entitled "It's Alright" in May 2007 and will release "Like The Season" throughout the United States in the fall of 2007. Additionally, Ottum is creating a companion DVD to "Like The Season" which will be completed in late 2007.
