Lewis Ashmore

Lewis Ashmore (born October 18, 1931 - died March 24, 2008) [ [http://www.bakersfield.com/funerals/story/399526.html Funeral services for March 27 The Bakersfield Californian] ] . was a member of the Board of Directors of the Universal Life Church founded by Kirby J. Hensley [ [http://www.latimes.com/features/printedition/magazine/la-tm-ulc05feb04,1,2922996.story?coll=la-headlines-magazine&ctrack=1&cset=true LA Times] ] . He ran a church in Tehachapi, California. While a member of the church he wrote the book "The Modesto messiah: The famous mail-order minister" and produced a movie of the same title [ [http://www.ulc.net/index.php?page=library&sub=history Universal Life Church Bookstore ] ] .

Mr. Ashmore was also a noted exorcist having performed hundreds of exorcisms since the 1950's [ [http://meta-religion.com/Psychiatry/Demonic_possesion/psychiatry_meets.htm Exorcism: Psychiatry Meets Faith] ] .
