Albert Gallatin Area School District

Albert Gallatin Area School District is a school district located in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It is named after Albert Gallatin former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and founder of New York University. It serves the boroughs of Masontown, Fairchance, Point Marion, and Smithfield. It also serves German, Springhill, Georges, and Nicholson townships. The district includes six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one senior high school. Albert Gallatin's superintendent is Walter Vicinelly.

The school nickname is the Colonials. The school is locally known by its initials, AG.

Demographics

The school district has 3960 students. Whites make up 95% of the student body, blacks make up nearly 5%. The teacher-student ratio is 16:1. Fifty-seven percent of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch prices.
