Howard Griffiths is a presenter for the BBC.
Career
Howard Griffiths is a radio and television presenter. His broadcast career started on board Concorde en route to New York reporting for BBC Radio 5's "Rave" programme presented by Rob Brydon. Howard's popularity in Wales led to appearances on numerous radio and television programmes on BBC and ITV, including fronting his own travel series for ITV 1 Wales which ran for two series 2002 - 2003 and hosting a live phone in programme at BBC Radio Wales 2003 to 2007.
Howard was a picker on ITV's "Blind Date" in 1993. The first and second shows attracted 16 and 17 million viewers. He went on to appear on "Best of Blind Date 1994" and "Best of the Last 10 years of Blind Date 1995".
Not the sort of person to turn down a challenge, in November 1998, Howard ran the New York Marathon with Falklands War hero Simon Weston OBE, reporting for BBC Choice and BBC Radio Wales. He is never very far away from live action. He started reporting at twice the speed of sound and in August 1999 presented in total darkness, live coverage of the eclipse for BBC Radio Wales, 10,000 feet above Cornwall. He was BBC Wales' man in the Dome on Millennium Eve, for BBC's "Leaving the 20th Century".
Howard has presented television programmes for the BBC, ITV, and Ideal World, the TV shopping channel. He has voiced "Viewers Letters" on "Points of View" BBC ONE with Terry Wogan for a number of years and voices the new series with Jeremy Vine. He fronted the Woolite television commercial campaign in the UK and is an ambassador for numerous charities.
