Carlos Tejedor (politician)

Carlos Tejedor (b. November 4, 1817 – d. January 3 1903) was an Argentine jurist and politician, Governor of Buenos Aires Province between 1878 and 1880.

Tejedor was a prominent figure in the movement against the federalization of the City of Buenos Aires as the national capital. He served as a national deputy (1866-69, 1874, 1894-1903) and as foreign minister in the government of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento (1870-4).

The Carlos Tejedor Partido is named after him.
