Sydney Packet (1826-1837)

The Sydney Packet was built in Sydney, Australia, in 1826 [ [http://www.oceans1.customer.netscape.net.au/nz-wreck.html Portail d'informations ] ] for Alexander Brodie Spark (1792-1856) [http://www.adb.online.anu.edu.au/biogs/A0204286.htm] She was a two-masted schooner of 84 tons. Her captain was James Bruce. After participating in the rescue of the "Elizabeth and Mary" in 1831, she was purchased by John Jones, and outfitted as a bay whaler.
