Andrew Dunkley

Andrew Dunkley (born 29 June 1968) in Launceston, is a former Australian rules footballer. A highly talented and dangerous defender, he played 217 games for the Sydney Swans between 1992 and 2002.

He represented Victoria in State of Origin in 1998.

Dunkley was a member of the Swans side which played in the 1996 AFL Grand Final but took the field in controversial circumstances. In their after the siren victory over the Essendon Bombers, Dunkley was reported for striking James Hird and was set to miss the Grand Final. The Swans however went to the Supreme Court and had his ban put on hold.
