Shahab Sheikh Nuri

Shahab Shiekh Nuri Shiekh Salih Barzinji was a Kurdish politician and a founding member of the Komalay Ranjdaran political organization. Khala Shahab was considered one of the most influential modern Kurdish politician, whose progressive ideology help shape the politics and political ideology of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. Khala Shahab is remembered by his saying, "Kam Biji, Kal Biji!" which translates into "It's Better to live short by living brave"! He was quoted as he was hung in Abu Ghraib prison, Iraq in 1976. Fact|date=December 2007 Khala Shahab was a close associate of current Iraqi President, H.E. Jalal Talabani and a first cousin of PUK leader [Martyr] Aram. Shaheed Shahab is survived by his son, Soran Shahab Nuri (Former personal assistant to H.E. Jalal Talabani) and daughter, Sozan Shahab Nuri who is currently a member of the Kurdistan National Assembly.
