Will House

Will House

Will House (born March 16, 1976) was an English cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. In 1993, three years before the start of his first-class career, House won "The Cricket Society Wetherall Award for the Leading All-Rounder in English Schools Cricket".

House started his first-class cricketing career in 1996 when he played for Cambridge University, before he was offered a contract by Kent for the 1997 season. He had played for the Kent second XI two years previously, and made his first County Championship appearance towards the end of the 1997 season. He made one further appearance for Kent before being picked by Marylebone Cricket Club to go on their tour of Bangladesh in January 2000, just four months after winning the 1999 Second XI Trophy with Kent against Hampshire.

At the beginning of the 2000 season, House moved to Sussex. He was an occasional member of the Sussex team, though the side, who had been placed in Division Two of the newly formed double-tier structure of English cricket, finished bottom of the table. House lasted just one more season in the Sussex team, before losing his place in the side, despite an upturn in form which saw them finish top of the division, promoting them to Division One just a year after the bleakness of the previous season.

House was an upper-middle order batsman, who frequently appeared as an opening batsman for the Second XI and Horsham Cricket Club.
