The propounder of more traditional Islam in India, Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelwi who is also Known as Ala Hazrat, has his roots in Khankah-e-Marehra Sharif of Etah distt,U.P India.Marehra has been the heart throb of millions of Sunni Muslims around the world right from the time of Mughal emperor Jehangir. Present

The Present caretaker or Sajjada Nashin of this notable Khankah is Prof. Syed Shah Mohd Ameen Mian Qaudri. Son of the famous Sufi Hazrat Ahsanululema Rehmatullah Alaih, he is a Professor in the Urdu department of Aligarh Muslim University.

Hazrat Ameen Mian is among the most revered and respected person alive of the Indian Barelwis. The English-language daily, Hindustan Times, Uttar Pradesh Edition on 6th August'06 in its Special article about Indian Muslims, described Syed Ameen Mian Qaudri as the Main Leader of Barelwis. His Silsila is Known as Barkatiya Silsila which has Lineage from Qadri Silasila of Baghdad. It is said that his silsila has following of around two Million People in India and abroad.
