Impatient Theatre Co.

The Impatient Theatre Co., or ITC, is an improvisational comedy training centre, theatre and production company based in Toronto, Ontario. It was founded in 2001 by Kevin Patrick Robbins, operating under the business name Impatient Productions. The company began as a longform improvisational comedy ensemble known as The Impatients, which was dissolved by Robbins in June 2003. Robbins kept the company going, changed its name to [http://www.longform.ca/ The Impatient Theatre Co.] and redirected the company's focus towards becoming an established longform improvisation training centre and theatre company. In its first year, the training centre experienced 400% growth and is now considered the fastest growing and one of the most respected training centres in Canada.

The company is a major player in the growth and production of improvisation in Toronto. The company is credited with the rapid growth of longform improvisation in Toronto due in a major part to its production and promotion of a competitive longform improv show known as the CageMatch. The ITC started producing CageMatch: Toronto in 2001, providing improvisers in the city with a place to perform longform improv comedy.

In 2002, the company produced the first annual Toronto International Improv Festival. The fifth annual festival, which took place August 21-27, 2006, established itself as the world's second largest festival of improvised theatre and comedy.
