I Love You (Cole Porter song)

"I Love You" is a song written by Cole Porter in 1944 for his stage musical "Mexican Hayride". It was popularized by Bing Crosby in the same year. The lyrics of the chorus are satiricaly and deliberatly banal, the verse apolgising for the use of lyrical cliches. It was also recorded by saxophone great John Coltrane on his album "Lush Life".

Versions have also been recorded by Frank Sinatra and Jo Stafford among others.
