HMS "Postillion" was an
Algerine class minesweeper , built by theUnited States Navy , but saw service in theRoyal Navy duringWorld War II .Launched on
18 March 1943 as "AM 335", she was commissioned into theRoyal Navy on25 November 1943 as HMS "Postillion".She was returned to the
United States Navy in December1946 and then sold to theGreek Navy in 1947 as Machitis (M 58). She was finally used as a target and sunk offCrete in1984 .War Service
