"Music Inferno" is a live song by pop singer Madonna. It was released on January 26, 2007 as a promotional single to radio stations to promote the live album "The Confessions Tour". It reached number sixty-three in the México Top 100 Singles Chart in May 2007 thanks to airplay and downloads.

ong Information

"Music Inferno" is a Disco song performed live during Madonna's Confessions Tour in 2006. The track consists of elements from Madonna's songs "Where's the Party" (from the 1986 album "True Blue") and "Music" (from the 2000 album "Music") along with a cover of the classic disco tune "Disco Inferno" originally performed by The Trammps.

Live performance

The Duke Mixes the Hits

The performance begins with the video backdrop broadcasting a megamix called "The Duke Mixes the Hits" by Stuart Price which includes short excerpts from the songs "Borderline", "Erotica", "Dress You Up" and "Holiday" and "Disco Inferno" by the Trammps. The images on the screen are a montage of Madonna's music videos and live performances, including the videos for "Human Nature", "Lucky Star", "Bedtime Story", "Rain", "Like a Virgin", "Deeper and Deeper", "Beautiful Stranger", "Open Your Heart", "Erotica", "Ray of Light", "Hung Up", "Justify My Love", "Love Don't Live Here Anymore", "Cherish", "Oh Father", "Music", "Sorry", "Fever", "Nothing Really Matters", "Take A Bow", "Secret", and more, and live performances of "Holiday" from the Blond Ambition Tour & "Dress You Up" from the Virgin Tour.

Music Inferno

"Music Inferno" is the opening song of the Confessions Tour's final act, and is dedicated to the disco era. After the video introduction ends, dancers appear and a performance involving roller skates begins. Images of Madonna in a red sequined dress and funky 70s graphic design appear on the backdrop screens. Madonna and two dancers then appear dressed in white suits inspired by John Travolta in the motion picture "Saturday Night Fever". The performance includes a remixed sample of the chorus of Madonna's 1986 album track "Where's the Party". This sample was initially planned to be part of the song "Everybody" but this song was dropped from the setlist in favour of "La Isla Bonita".

Live backdrop video

There is no official video for "Music Inferno". During The Confessions Tour live performance, a backdrop video was created involving 70s funk graphic design and Madonna dancing in a red sequined dress. The scenes were filmed during a photoshoot by Steven Klein for promotional photographs for the 2005 album "Confessions on a Dance Floor".

Releases

The song was never issued as a commercial CD single, but only as a promo one sent to radio stations with the Radio Edit. A video was never shot and TV stations couldn't broadcast the live performance because they were already playing the ones of "Ray of Light" and "Jump". Although, both audio and video of the performance are available on the CD+DVD "The Confessions Tour".
