- John Corrin
John Corrin (10 Sept 34 - 30 Nov 2005) was a former Minister in the
Isle of Man Government andMember of the House of Keys .John was educated at
Arbory School andCastle Rushen High School , and on leaving school at the age of 17, hejoined theBritish Army . He served in theRoyal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and was posted to many places,including theMiddle East from 1953 to 1955, theRhine Army from 1961 to 1962 and theFar East from 1962 to1964. He returned to the Isle of Man to get married and he worked for Malew Engineering Limited atRonaldsway from 1965 until 1970. He also became involved in the work of theTransport and General Workers Union .In 1986 he was elected one of the
Member of the House of Keys forRushen . In 1991, after the General Election, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. In 1995, John moved from his role as Minister and served on numerousCouncil of Ministers ,Tynwald andHouse of Keys committees. He retired fromTynwald at the 1996 General Election.Governmental positions
