Cerro Villa Middle School, which opened in 1965, is one of five middle schools in the Orange Unified School District. It is located in a residential area in Villa Park, CA and draws students from northeast Orange, parts of Anaheim and the City of Villa Park.

Principal Award in 1994, National Foundation for the Improvement of Education Learning Tomorrow Grant in 1995-96, Published in the “School-Based Conflict Resolution Programs” in 1998, Safe Schools and Violence Prevention Office, Safe Schools Grant in 1998-2000, School Renovation Technology Grant in 2003-04, Enhancing Education Through Technology Grant in 2003-05, Institute for Character Education, (Federal Grant for OCDE—Cerro Villa is a participating school, 2003-07). Jeffery Jones was awarded the "Teacher of the Year" award for the 2008-2009 school year. Also, Lisa Hedspeth, 8th grade honors history teacher, was awarded "Educator of the Year" (2009-2010). Andrew Castro was given the "Teacher of the Year" for the whole Orange Unified School District and went on to be a semi-finalist at the county level.
