Trevor Moore

Trevor Moore

Trevor Paul Moore (born April 4, 1980 in Montclair, New Jersey) is an American comedian, actor, satirist, cartoonist, writer, and director. Known mostly for his current project, the New York City-based comedy troupe "Whitest Kids U'Know", Moore's other noteworthy projects include "The Trevor Moore Show" and "Uncle Morty's Dub Shack".

Career

Moore, like his future "Whitest Kids U' Know" comrade Sam Brown, studied in Manhattan's School of Visual Arts. [DeBartolo, Dance; "Mad" magazine #468; February 2008; Page 26.]

In 1996, a show, dubbed "The Trevor Moore Show" ran on Charlottesville Public Access TV in Charlottesville, Virginia, and began to garner a following among the local college community. In 1998, Moore was offered a deal to produce new episodes of "The Trevor Moore Show" for WADA-TV, formerly a PAX TV affiliate. The show only lasted sixteen episodes before backlash from skits like "I Wonder Who Died Today?" (a parody newscast from the local senior citizen's home) resulted in the show's immediate cancellation, due to offensive material. It was his belief that the show only would air at night, but halfway through the first season he found out that it was being re-run at 9 AM Saturday mornings.

Moore works at the cable TV startup ImaginAsianTV as a producer/writer for "Uncle Morty's Dub Shack", a comedy show that involved comedians re-voicing and parodying old Asian movies of marginal quality.

In 2004, Moore's comedy troupe,"Whitest Kids U'Know", started a regular engagement at the Lower East Side bar, Pianos. The troupe was also invited to the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 2006 and won the jury prize for "Best Sketch Group."

The troupe recently finished shooting a 10-episode sketch comedy series for the Fuse TV network. The series debuted on March 20, 2007 and since then has gained relative popularity. The show has since moved to IFC, where the second season is now available uncensored. There is currently a "Whitest Kids U'Know" CD available; as well as a Season One on DVD.
