"Room on the 3rd Floor" is McFly's first album, released in 2004, which debuted at number one in the UK albums chart, breaking the world record for the youngest band with a Number One album, a record previously held by The Beatles. It reached Number One after selling 61,589 copies in the first week and is certified 2x Platinum in the UK for sales of over 800,000 copies.

The album's main songwriters are Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, both from the group, and also contains contributions from James Bourne from Busted and Busted's main producers. The album is directly influenced by three things: modern pop punk, 1960s surfer pop, and tales of unrequited love.

The track "Get Over You" is hidden and does not appear on the track listing; it can be accessed by rewinding from the start of "5 Colours in Her Hair". This track cannot always be accessed if the CD is being played through a computer.

Four singles from the album have been released: "5 Colours in Her Hair" and "Obviously", which both reached Number One. "That Girl", which reached number three and title track, "Room on the 3rd Floor", reached number five.

An international version of the album features all the songs mentioned except "Broccoli" and "Surfer Babe". Another difference between the UK and international versions of the album is the different colour of the band name (the UK album has "McFly" in yellow but the international version has "McFly" in red).

The track "Saturday Night" was previously credited as "Saturday Nite" on the "5 Colours in Her Hair" single.
