Sanatorium is a
thrash metal band fromSkopje ,Republic of Macedonia Members
Pero Stefanovski (
guitar and vocals), Konstantin Kačev (guitar), Goran Stanković (bass guitar ) and Goran Atanasov on drums.Biography
After its forming in
1987 the band quickly attracted the media attention nationwide and in the following period succeeded in obtaining all the music awards in Macedonia. An invitation followed for taking part in "Hard Metal" festival, the biggest heavy metal festival in the formerYugoslavia at the time. The band performed inNovi Sad in1991 andBelgrade ,Serbia in1992 where they got several offers for releasing their debut album. The plan was postponed due to the disintegration of the Yugoslav federation and theYugoslav wars that followed.In
1992 they finally released their first official albumNa rabot na razumot ("The Edge Of Sanity") for the NationalMacedonian Radio-Television music production. It was recorded and mixed in the "M-2" studio in Skopje from April to November 1992. All of the songs are inMacedonian language .An international tour followed, from which they released their live album "Live in Hungary" recorded in
Szeged ,Hungary in December 1992.In
1996 , they release their third album "No More", recorded in the "City Sound Studio" in Skopje from November1995 to April1996 . The record is completely in English, except for the bonus tracks, which are in Macedonian language. Promotional tours aroundEurope followed, mostly around theBalkans .In
Sofia ,Bulgaria in August2000 , they played a concert together withMotörhead . The tour ends in Skopje, with a spectacular performance on the festivalTaksirat in front of 8000 fans.In the year
2001 Sanatorium signed for "Lithium Records" label from Skopje. On the 16th of June 2001, they promoted their new CD "Sanatorium", which contains the whole material from the first album, two new singles, as well as three live songs.As a promotion of the new album they played some cities in Macedonia and then big shows with
Slayer and Halford in Sofia, Bulgaria and withSoulfly in Belgrade, Serbia.Audio clips
