In the fictional world of Warhammer Fantasy, Tzarina Katarin also known as the Ice Queen of Kislev is the current ruler of all Kislev.

Tzarina Katarin is the descendant of the ancient Khan-Queens of the Gospodars. Her father is Tzar Boris Bokha, a charismatic and courageous leader of Kislev who died in the war against Kurgan army of Hetzar Feydaj in Troll Country. Unlike him, the Tzarina said to be remote and aloof. She is also known for her beauty and cold manners. Tzarina Katarin rules from the Bokha Palaces, located at the center of capital city of Kislev.

Tzarina Katarin is the most powerful wizard in Kislev. Her mastery over Ice Magic and a great leader in her own right, many said that she is the living reincarnation of the first and greatest Khan-Queen Miska of the Gospodars. The elite regimen of Kislevites army, the Gryphon Legion are her personal guard and the people of Kislev are devoted to her.

In the battlefield, Tzarina Katarin leads the Kislevites army on her warhorse or upon an armored sled drawn by a team of identical beasts, against constant threats of marauding tribes and Chaos warbands invading her land. She wears the Crystal Cloak that gives her extra protection and carries the ancient sword Fearfrost.

When the Black Orc warboss Grimgor Ironhide and his army try to invade Kislev, they were stopped from advancing to the capital by a huge blizzard summoned by the Tzarina.

Trivia

* Tzarina Katarin the Great has appeared as a minor character in Warhammer novel "Silver Nails" by Jack Yeovil from the Black Library publication. In the Black Library books, the Tzarina is portrayed as a tyrannical absolutist.
* She is one of two official special characters playable in Kislevites army. The other character is Boris Ursus, the Red Tzar.
* The Tzarina's magic weapon, the Fearfrost can be held only by females.
* Currently, Tzarina Katarin is one of few characters in Warhammer Fantasy Battle who are both a level 4 wizard and an army general.
