Permanent crop

Permanent crop

A permanent crop is one produced from plants which last for many seasons, rather than being replanted after each harvest.

As used in The World Factbook land use statistics the term comprises land cultivated for crops like citrus, olives, coffee, and rubber; it includes land under flowering shrubs, fruit trees, nut trees, and vines, but excludes land under trees grown for wood or timber.
