The 05 series (東京地下鉄05系電車 "Tōkyō Metoro 05 kei densha") is an EMU which operates on the Tōzai subway line of Tōkyō Metro.

They were built from 1988 to 2004 (total 43 sets 10-car trains) so they have a number of variants. Sets 05-125 onward have a redesigned front end, and are called "05N series". Sets 05-114 to 05-118 have wide doors. A further four sets were due to be built, but the plan was changed to use 07 series transferred from Yūrakuchō Line so no further 05 series trains were built.

The master controller includes a deadman system in which the brakes are applied if the driver releases the master controller. The partition between the driver's cab and passenger saloon has 3 windows. Two of the windows are usually screened by curtains on the Tozai Line, but one window is left unobstructed so passenger can look the view ahead even on subway tracks.
