Eliki

Eliki (Greek: Ελίκη), is a Greek village in the Achaia prefecture. Eliki located about 15 km east of Aigio, about 45 km east of Patras, west of Diakopto and northwest of Kalavryta. Eliki is also in the municipality of Diakopto and had a population of in 2001. Eliki is linked with the road linking with the GR-8 (Athens - Corinth - Patras). The village of Eliki dates back to Ancient times and was known as Helike. It featured a ancient Roman road nearby.

Geography

Eliki is situated in a small plain. The river is around the area as well as its forests, farmlands and groves covers the area and features fruits, vegetable, olive, cattle and other crops. Agriculture is the main production while a part of the population worked in other businesses. The mountains dominate the southern portion. The new GR-8A/E65 (Athens - Corinth - Patras) is to the south. The Gulf of Corinth is to the north.

Its panorama includes the mountains of Achaia within the Gulf of Corinth and the mountains across to the Fokida prefecture to the north.

Other

Eliki has a school, a church, and a square ("plateia"), its nearest lyceum (middle school) and gymnasium (secondary school) are in Diskopto.
