Established in Honolulu on May 22, 1992 as an American two-year liberal arts college, Hawaii Tokai International College (HTIC) is the most recent school in the Moili‘ili community adjacent to Waikiki. The only American campus of the Tokai University Educational System of Japan (TES), HTIC reflects the combined educational philosophies of Tokai founder, Dr. Shigeyoshi Matsumae and Dr. Richard Kosaki.
Liberal Arts Program
The Liberal Arts (LA) Program is an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree program introducing students to the various fields of knowledge, including the arts and humanities, languages, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics, with a strong emphasis on learning and communication skills.
College Preparatory Program
The College Preparatory Program (CPP) acclimates international students to American college study and serves as a gateway to a higher education in English. Once a year, a small group of talented students, Known as FEST (Foreign English Students of Tokai) from TES high schools are invited to participate in the College Prep Program.
International Programs
Students enrolled in International Programs (IP) at HTIC engage in intensive study of English while pursuing research in fields such as anthropology, history, medicine , and marine science.
Famous Alumni
Kenji Sakaguchi, a famous Japanese actor and son of pro wrestler Seiji Sakaguchi, starring in various T.V. dramas, attended Hawaii Tokai International College.
