The suburb's borders are Cross Road, Goodwood Road, Edward Street and Winston Avenue.
It is diagonally opposite Colonel Light Gardens (to the south-east) and adjoins suburbs such as Westbourne Park, Clarence Gardens and Clarence Park.
Cumberland Park is mainly a leafy residential suburb, although some convenience centres, sidewalk shops and a Big W store with an adjoining Woolworths exist along Goodwood Road.
Cabra Dominican College, a private Catholic coeducational College (once administered by the Dominican Nuns) is located within the suburb.
Cumberland Park Post Office opened on 1 November 1993 replacing the Clarence Park office.[2]
