Mike Lehan (born May 261972 in Marston Green, West Midlands) is an English writer and director. He started his career in music during the early 90's working as a session musician and freelance tutor, but soon found a new career path when he was introduced to post production. From there it just took off and Mike has been writing and directing ever since producing some outstanding work like "Cook's Last Voyage" and " [http://www.ukscreen.com/screen/302/ Walkabout] ". Recently divorced, Mike has a daughter (15) Kerry and they both reside in Yorkshire.

Directing career

Lehan's first directorial debut was in 2000 entitled [http://www.ukscreen.com/screen/302/ Walkabout] , a 15 minute short. He had shot smaller pieces while working in post production, but this was his first solo project.

Then in 2003 he wrote and directed the acclaimed "Cook's Last Voyage" shooting in Hawaii and Australia. This was the biggest production he had experienced and only his second major directing piece.

In 2004 he started the production [http://www.hawkspeed.co.uk/ Hawk Speed] a 14 part television series telling the story of a motorcycle race team. This aired on one of the ITV channels in the UK. This had to be the largest production to date, filming in every major city throughout the British Isles, a shooting schedule of 18 months and one of his most successful projects yet.

In late 2006 Lehan was invited by "Ken Horn" to the set of "The Royal" the ITV period drama to shadow one of their experienced directors. Soon after he was again invited to one of ITV's drama productions "Emmerdale" to shadow "Duncan Foster".

Lehan has just finished writing an 8 part crime series and is currently penning two features titled "Case of the Green Wallpaper", "Resolution" and "Black Shallow Creek" a gruesome horror/thriller feature film which will be his debut as a feature director.

With his sights set firmly on film, Lehan is about to go into production of a short film titled "Black" which he co-wrote with Jonathan Brown an up and coming UK based writer
