Roger Cassidy Clinton, Jr. (born July 25, 1956) is an American actor and half-brother of President Bill Clinton.

Clinton, Jr. was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of Virginia Clinton Kelley (1923–1994) and Roger Clinton, Sr., who were Bill Clinton's mother and stepfather, respectively.

As a child Bill often had to protect Roger from his periodically alcoholic and abusive father. [Clinton, Bill, My Life, 2004] Roger became a musician and formed a rock band, which Bill Clinton described as talented in his autobiography.

Criminal convictions

When Bill was Governor of Arkansas, Roger pleaded guilty to cocaine distribution in 1984 and served one year of a two-year sentence in return for testifying against a number of other defendants.cite news | first= | last= | coauthors= | title=CASH FOR CLEMENCY? Roger also submitted six names for his half-brother to pardon, most of them conspirators in his drug dealings. The president reportedly turned all of Roger’s recommendations down.

However, Roger continued to court legal trouble. On February 17, 2001, less than a month after he was pardoned, he was arrested and charged with two counts of drunken driving and one for disturbing the peace. In a deal that spared him jail time, Roger Clinton pleaded guilty to a non-alcohol-related charge of reckless driving.

Acting career

He has guest-starred on a number of television shows, including "The Nanny", "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch", and "Cybill". He also played the character of Mayor Bubba in "", and more recently, himself in the film "Fred Claus". [imdb name|id=0166935|name=Roger Clinton, Jr.]
