KTRB (860 AM) is a commercial radio station in San Francisco, California.

History

KTRB signed on in 1933, broadcasting to the Modesto, California area until June 19, 2006.

Move to San Francisco

KTRB obtained permission from the FCC to move to San Francisco, California and has aired a classic rock music format during transmission tests. KTRB signed on the air to conduct those tests on February 1, 2007.

The station's owner, Pappas Telecasting, established KMPH at AM 840 in Modesto to replace the moved station. It signed on late in 2006.

The "San Francisco Chronicle" reported that KTRB would debut a hot talk format on March 15, 2007, featuring syndicated personalities Mancow Muller and John London, who once aired on San Francisco stations [cite news |work=San Francisco Chronicle |url=http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/02/25/PKGRJN85UG1.DTL |date=2007-02-25 |title=Radio waves |first=Ben |last=Fong-Torres] , as well as other syndicated hosts such as Glenn Beck.
