trade union leader in 1967, PJR was first elected to the assembly in 1978. He was Labour Minister in the ministry headed by his mentor T Anjaiah in 1980. He had been a known loyalist of Gandhi family (Indira, Sanjay, Rajiv, and Sonia).He was suspended from the party on several occasions by running a '

PJR suffered a
heart attack on December 28, 2007, while on his way to a party meeting. He was rushed to hospital but died on the way. On the day he passed away all the shops were closed.After his death, his son
