Boskovice (IPA2|ˈboskovɪtsɛ; _de. Boskowitz) is a town in the Czech Republic.

Location

The town is situated in the Drahanská Highlands, about 30-40 km to the north of Brno, the most important city of Moravia.

History

Boskovice was probably founded in the 11th century and received its town charter in the 14th century. It used to have one of the largest Jewish communities in Moravia.
