Law enforcement in the United Arab Emirates

Khadem bin Soroor al Mesam was the first commander of the Dubai Police Force, in 1965 and 1966. He was trained by British police officers in Dubai and Jordan and then moved to work in his own business.

Police Special Unit

Police Special Unit is a unit which has been heavily influenced by the British SAS, and is believed to be tasked with providing CT capabilities to all Emirates within the UAE who do not already have such a team in place. This unit is 40 men strong and is based at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
