- Motorola SCPL
The
Motorola SCPL refers to a slim phone (a la the SLVR line of phonesFact|date=February 2007) currently in the works at Motorola. In keeping with the recent four letter nomenclature of MOTO phones, the SCPL (orscalpel ) refers to the primary draw of the phone design (namely, a thin physique). The SCPL was first reported in
Engadget on May 24th, 2006. Ron Garriques of Motorola indicated that the phone would contain "five features that promise to set it apart from the pack."It was to be released by
Motorola in 2007. The high-tier model will feature a music player, but will lack a physical keyboard. Instead, the phone will feature a single piece of black glass, which lays on top of a screen and touch-sensitive keys (that will act as keypad).Fact|date=February 2007The Moto SCPL sounds similar to the ROKR E8 which debuted at CES 2008 and looks like the Motofone F3. " [The Motorola E8] is free of physical keys, with a completely smooth face and vibrating haptics to denote key "presses."
