Batman Adventure - The Ride

Batman Adventure: The Ride is a Batman-themed attraction at the Warner Bros. Movie World theme park on the Gold Coast, Australia. It was previously also operated at Warner Bros Movie World Germany (now Movie Park Germany). The ride opened first at the Australian park in 1992 (1996 in Germany) and was a motion platform simulator-style ride, much in the vein of Disney Parks' Star Wars-themed attraction Star Tours.

"Batman Adventure The Ride "original version"

The ride contained screen images synchronised to movement of the simulator base, and was based upon Tim Burton's Batman films, the second of which was also released that year. Each car seats 20 people and utilises military-style fight simulator motion bases, which allow six degrees of freedom.

The original storyline revolves around Batman's quest to save kidnapped children in Gotham City and is filmed in live action, with the riders experiencing is from Batman's point of view (in the tracking module vehicle). The ride is strongly based on the "Batman Returns" movie, featuring appearances from The Penguin, Catwoman and the Red Triangle Circus gang. Movie Park Germany still uses this version, albeit dubbed into German. In the original Batman Adventure The Ride experience, riders would go through two separate preshow areas 1. Wayne Manor 2. The Batcomputer command center where riders would witness the main preshow while being guided by an animatronic Batman.

Batman Adventure: The Ride 2

The ride was revamped in 2001 and renamed Batman Adventure: The Ride 2. Despite the addition of the "2" in the ride title, this new ride is hardly a sequel to the 1992 original, and retains the main components including the motion simulator base. However, a new ride video comprised of computer generated imagery, instead of live-action was added. This new ride has great elements from four of the Batman films as well as the popular animated series franchise ALL before Batman Begins, it was altered form the previous ride dramaticlally with altered design features to make the city seem more "exciting".

The Batman Adventure The Ride 2 storyline starts when you enter Wayne Manor as a Gotham City police cadet on a special tour of Bruce Waynes Library, also featuring a preview of Wayne tech's latest developments such as The Gotham City Security Network and the new Reconniasence fleet of aircraft, similarly styled to the Batwing in Tim Burton's Batman 1989. introduced by the chief of the Wayne Foundation Mr Lucius Fox, But just as Mr Fox starts explaining the new network the cadets and Mr Fox are interupted by an alert directly from Arkham Asylum- Gotham city's maximum security facity for the city's worst felon's he remarks that it's probably a false alarm but it dosen't pay to take chances, I can link into the batcomputer from here. Batgirl I'm getting indications of trouble from Arkham Asylum, does the batcomputer confirm? Batgirl- I'm checking right now Mr Fox there's definetly something wrong, there's power outages all over Gotham city, has Batman been alerted, Mr Fox- he's on his way here, can you coordinate operations from the batcave, Batgirl- afirmative, there is something wrong! all of gothams forces are converging on Arkham Asylum, Mr Fox- we'll need these cadets out to help they can fly recconisiance for the police, Batgirl- the recon fleet is already prepped, Mr Fox- batgirl im losing the network Batgirl- can you hear me mr fox? - {voice fades out} Mr Fox- cadets please step forward your guides will assist you there is a hovercraft launch bay it is normally part of the advanced {voice fades out} television goes blank. A guide then opens the secret bookcase reveling the batcave entrance as you walk through the batcave tunnel through to the grouping ques you may hear dripping water and mumurs of bats flying, as you reach the end of the que the guide announces "I now present to you the gotham city security network (doors open inwardley} the batcave command center includes 14 minor video monitors and on huge monitor in the middle as well as Batman's desk and chair, while seated the audience witnesses a preshow video introducing the Recon Vehicle which is the vehicle you travel in on the main adventure.

Intersting Facts: -Reprising their roles from "", the 2001 revamp featured the voices of Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as the Joker, Adrienne Barbeau as Catwoman, and Tara Strong as Batgirl.

-The ride's set was unchanged, despite the dramatic difference between the two rides

-There in animatronic Batman who talks in the Batcave sitting at the desk, The animatronics used to alow Batman to turn around, but that feature, after years of neglect, has since failed to function.

- The vehicle set that you ride in is still the unchanged Tracking module from the previous ride, and not the new Recon vehicle

- When you exit the ride the set that you are surrounded in is the Tracking module Crashing in to the Penguin's Arctic World Lair- from the previous ride.
