"Fire Pro Wrestling 2" (released in Japan as "Final Fire ProWrestling: Yume no Dantai Unei!") is a professional wrestling video game in the "Fire Pro Wrestling" series. It is a direct sequel to 2001's "Fire Pro Wrestling". It is important to note that "Fire Pro Wrestling 2" is not actually the second game in the series; it is merely the second game to be officially translated into English.

Roster

Like all games in the Fire Pro series, "Fire Pro Wrestling 2" featured a roster composed of actual wrestlers and promotions from around the world, with names, appearances, and logos changed to avoid outright copyright infringement.

Featured promotions

*American Pro Wrestling (World Wrestling Federation)
*American Wrestling Group (World Championship Wrestling)
*XWA (Extreme Championship Wrestling)
*View Japan Prowrestling (New Japan Pro Wrestling)
*Team Black (Team 2000, aka nWo Japan)
*Olive Japan Prowrestling (All Japan Pro Wrestling)
*Super NOVA (Pro Wrestling NOAH)
*Neo One (Pro Wrestling ZERO-ONE)
*UNO (Universal Fighting Arts Organization)
*Independent World (various Japanese independent promotions)
*Yukiguni Prowrestling (Michinoku Pro Wrestling)
*Dragon (Toryumon)
*Three-A (various Mexican promotions, notably AAA and CMLL)
*Blade (PRIDE Fighting Championship)
*Gruesome Fighters (Ultimate Fighting Championship)

In addition, there are three groups in the game not based on actual promotions.
*Freelance
*Legends
*Special (characters who are not professional wrestlers or mixed martial artists)

The inclusion of leagues based on World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling is interesting, as each of those promotions were long defunct by the time "Fire Pro Wrestling 2" was released (WCW was purchased by the World Wrestling Federation in March 2001; ECW filed for bankruptcy the following month, but was revived in 2006 by World Wrestling Entertainment as its third "brand").

Another note is that in the Japanese version there is a special mode called "Management of the Ring" which is basically a manager game where you make cards and sign wrestlers and organize merchandise. This mode was removed in the US version for unknown or poor reasons by BAM! Entertainment. Also in the USA version they added more American wrestlers and took out some Japanese wrestlers.Example: Maasaki Mochizuki replaced by Edge.
