The Child Advocate is a child advocacy network and resource group in the United States. Their mission is to serve the needs of children, families and professionals while addressing mental health, medical, educational, legal, and legislative issues.. The organization was founded in 1999 by [http://webapp.hmc.psu.edu/physdir/provider.cfm?id=cpetersen Christopher Petersen] .

The principal goals are:
* Developing a resource to support advocacy for individual children and their parents.
* Providing a basis for class and group advocacy in working with children.
* Addressing child mental health, educational, legal and medical issues.
* Supporting local, state and national legislative action for children

The Child Advocate Network of America and Child Mental Health are devoted to children and the parents and professionals that work with them and advocate for them. The Child Advocate Network is a national network. The Child Advocate is in compliance with the [http://www.hon.ch/HONcode/Conduct.html?HONConduct669335 HONcode] and respects and pledges to honor the 8 principles of the HON Code of Conduct.
