Abubakar Audu

Abubakar Audu

Prince Abubakar Audu was twice Governor of Nigeria's Kogi state, first from January 1992 until November 1993 and again from May 29 1999 to May 29 2003. Since leaving office he has had charges of misrule made against him by his successor, Ibrahim Idris. The ousted governor Ibrahim Idris and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have yet to substantiate their claims against Audu. cite news |first=Emmanuel |last=Adeyemi |title=Abubakar Audu is history in Kogi politics- Gov Idris |url=http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2006/may/07/national-07-05-2006-004.htm |work=Daily Sun online |publisher= The Sun Publishing Ltd.|date=2007-05-07 |accessdate=2007-07-11 ] Abubakar Audu was once detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, but released on bail..cite news |title= Court Grants Kogi's Audu Gets Bail |url= http://www.thetimesofnigeria.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1519&Itemid=95&PHPSESSID=e1f16924491a5c766bfef4e017 |format= |work=ThisDay, reprinted in Times of Nigeria |publisher=Leaders & Company Limited, republished by New Generation Media, Inc |date=2006-12-07 |accessdate=2007-07-11]
