April 23 ,1973 ) is an American soccer player currently playing for theTreasure Coast Galleons in theFESL ; he used to play professionally as a forward for theMiami Fusion ofMajor League Soccer . As recently as the Open Cup in 2005, he was still playing as a striker for the amateurCocoa Expos of theUSL Premier Development League before moving on to the Treasure Coast Galleons of the FESL.Nicknamed "Sneaky Pete", Marino was picked by the
Columbus Crew in the 12th round of the 1996 Inaugural Draft, 10,011th overall, and emerged as the 13th-highest scorer in the first season of MLS. His luck was no better the next year at theTampa Bay Mutiny , as he again scored only one goal and was waived shortly thereafter. In 2000, a flailingD.C. Marino has currently signed on with the Treasure Coast Galleons of the newly formed FESL, Florida Elite Soccer League. 2007 saw Marino earn the FESL League MVP award and also the FESL Championship. Marino was named in club captain in 2007, with ownership naming him a captain for life. 2008 saw Marino finish fifth in league scoring and first in assists with 8 assists in 11 total matches.
