Yevgeny Petrov

Yevgeny Petrov

Yevgeny Petrov ("Yevgeny Petrovich Kataev"; Russian: Евгений Петров; OldStyleDate|December 13|1903|November 30 in Odessa – July 2, 1942) was an extremely popular Soviet author of the 1920s and 1930s, who worked in collaboration with Ilya Ilf. He is the brother of Valentin Kataev. See Ilf and Petrov for more info.

When the Great Patriotic War started, Yevgeny Petrov became a war reporter. He died in a plane crash on return from besieged Sevastopol.
