Biography

Roamer Life

Tasia Tamblyn was the youngest child and only daughter of Bram and Karla Tamblyn. Before the onset of the war against the hydrogues Tasia resided with her family on Plumas where - on a trip out on one of the planet's subterraen lakes - she was given the responsibility of looking after the compy EA by her brothers who had previously owned the robot. Despite this Tasia had once dared EA to walk across a thin sheet of ice, unaware the compy could do nothing but obey.

EDF

Upon the death of her older brother Ross at the hands of Hydrogue warglobes Tasia resolved to join the Earth Defence Forces, fleeing Plumas on a Roamer ship with her COMPI EA after a fight with her father. Due to her less than pampered life with the Roamers and a natural skill for flying that had been amplified under the tutelage of her brothers Tasia excelled in training for the EDF though her Roamer background alienated her from most of her fellow recruits. Tasia, however, did make one friend - Robb Brindle - who became Tasia's remora wing commander (and later her lover) when she received the rank of Platcom and the command of a weapons platform.

Tasia served as Platcom at the EDF defeat at Jupiter and at the siege of Yreka where she rewarded the exercise of restraint against the colonists in stark contrast to another Grid 9 commander Patrick Fitzpatrick III. Promoted to command of a Manta cruiser Tasia's quick thinking at the Hydrogue attack against Boone's Crossing resulted in the rescue of thousands of colonists as the use of tactical armor foam to create islands far from the ravaged forest allowed EDF craft to evacuate many more settlement than they would otherwise have been able to.

Soon after Robb Brindle returned to the EDF from tracking the Hydrogues at Boone's Crossing back to Osquivel, Tasia Tamblyn dispatched EA on a mission to warn the Roamers that Del Kellum's Shipyard facilities at Osquivel were in danger of discovery by the Terran Hanseatic League. EA was sent back after delivering her warning; however, the COMPY was captured by the EDF when returning to Tasia. The COMPY was interrogated by Hansa Chairman Basil Wenceslas which caused her memory to be whipped. Wenceslas instructed the EDF to implant listening and recording devices into the COMPY and have it returned to Tasia. Although this plan succeeded and the Osquivel complex was disguised such that it was not noticed by the EDF, Tasia was heart-broken when EA was returned to her with her memory whipped. Then after the offensive at Osquivel Tasia was dealt another blow as she believed Robb Brindle had died during his diplomatic mission to the Hydrogues.

Spurred by the loss of both Robb Brindle and her brother Ross at the hands of the Hydrogues, Tasia jumped at the chance to deliver a Klikiss Torch to Ptoro in the first offensive action by the Earth Defense Forces against the Hydrogues. Later Tasia and the crew of her Manta got to visit worlds ignited by the Klikiss in their conflict with the Hydrogues at the scientist Howard Palawu uncovered the coordinates of the ancient battlegrounds. While the first stop on Tasia's mission was uneventful at the second site the Manta cruiser entered the system to witness the defeat of Faeros there by the Hydrogues.

With the declaration of war against the Roamers by the Terran Hanseatic League Tasia was sidelined and assigned to Mars to train new recruits, a mission which Tasia loathed although she was a good instructor, forcing the trainees to be imaginative in extreme circumstances.

When the chance came up to be stationed with the Roamer POWs from Rendezvous and Hurricane Depot, Tasia was reassigned by her superior Admiral Sheila Willis and flew with a group Roamer detainees to Llaro though she didn't converse with any of those captured until arrival at the old Klikiss world. While the prisoners - such as Crim Tylar and Roberto Clarin - were more comfortable in her presence than with other EDF officers they were still understandably bitter.

After escorting the Roamer prisoners to Llaro, Tasia was soon reassigned to the command of a Manta cruiser - though in this case it was one of the mainly Soldier COMPY-crewed rammer ships - and as she was the only 'dunsel' commander of those that volunteered for the assignment Tasia was put in charge of the wing of Mantas that were dispatched to Qronha 3.

Unfortunately Tasia never got to attack the Hydrogues at Qronha 3 as the duplicitous Soldier complies seized control of her Manta and she was taken captive by the Klikiss Robots and brought to Osquivel and reunited with Brindle. After being imprisoned for an extended amount of time, Brindle's father triggered EA's hidden surveillance devices in an effort to locate the COMPY in hopes that the Grid 3 fleet could be located; however, the Klikiss robots detected the signal and killed the friendly COMPY in front of Tasia.

Tasia, Rob Brindle, and the rest of the EDF captives were later saved by her brother Jess Tamblyn before the Wental/Verdani offensive against the Hydrogues. After being rescued, they were transferred to Rob's fathers Scout ship. After hearing of the Confederation Tasia ordered Rob's father (a Lieutenant in the EDF) to take them to Theroc where Tasia and Rob joined forces with the Confederation. After Joining the Confederation Tasia and Rob took charge of the Confederation military and began overseeing the retrofitting of Roamer vessels at Del Kellum's newly re-constructed Shipyards.

After hearing of the Klikiss threat to all former Klikiss worlds, Tasia and Brindle led the rescue mission to Llaro to save whatever colonists and Roamer Detainees were left there. Their ship was attacked by Klikiss swarm ships and crashed. They were found by Davlin Lotze and taken to the Llaro survivors camp where they made plans to repair and refuel their ship for the escape from Llaro. Lotze, Brindle and Tasia launched a ill advised mission into the Klikiss settlement where they retrieved fuel stocked piled by Lotze; however, during the mission into the Klikiss territory, Lotze was lost to the Klikiss. Tasia and Brindle managed to barely escape from the Klikiss and refuel their ship for the escape from Llaro.
