Barbara Joan March

Barbara Joan March (b. 1945/6) is a woman from Connecticut, United States of America who is currently imprisoned for attempting to assassinate various US Government officials.

In April 2005, she sent several food items, including homebaked cookies and candy, to the officials. Each item was laced with a lethal dose of warfarin (rat poison). Each package included a threatening note and the return address on each package was somebody she had a grudge against.

The items were sent to:

*All nine justices of the US Supreme Court
* FBI Director Robert Mueller
* Mueller's deputy
* The Chief of Naval Operations
* The Air Force chief of staff
* The Army chief of staff

On March 1, 2006, Barbara Joan March pleaded guilty to 14 counts of mailing injurious articles. She was sentenced on October 11, 2006 and is serving a fifteen year sentence.
