Quickmuse

QuickMuse is a website that aims to spur acts of improvisation amongst top-tier poets. The primary tool in this effort is the Poematic, an AJAX-based key-capture program that produces a real-time record of the poets' compositions, complete with mistakes and corrections. Furthermore, before composing, poets are presented with an arbitrarily selected theme, thus reducing the possibility that they might simply regurgitate preexisting material.

QuickMuse has featured many significant American and U.K. poets since its inception in May, 2006, including, but not limited to, former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky, famed president of Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, Jonathan Galassi, and Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Muldoon. Recently the site has made forays into other branches of literature, including translation, fiction, and humor, the latter featuring Roy Blount Jr. and Neal Pollack.
